KATAHDIN REGION – Transportation to and from the grocery store, pharmacy or doctor’s appointments is now available to tri-town senior citizens through a just launched transportation program made available by the Eastern Area Agency on Agency through the local group Aging with Dignity. For further information regarding the program call the office of the transportation manager at 1-800-432-7812.



November 28 –  Freedom Center Freedom Center, located at 633 Gardiner Rd, Dresden Maine is hosting it’s 2nd Annual Spaghetti Dinner & Silent Auction Fundraiser. This event will be held on Saturday November 28th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Freedom Center is Christian based organization helping women and men acclimate to independent living. Many hardships, such as addictions, incarceration, divorce and other life changing events have caused emotional and financial distress among individuals. November 29 – Coming to the Cinemagic in Westbrook, December 9th is a special one time showing of the movie “Poverty Inc”. This movie represents a radically different view of charity and its harmful impacts of good -hearted attempts to help. Join Poverty Inc. and Trades of Hope as we examine the way we look at poverty and our role in making change. Unlike a traditional movie showing, this showing requires that 75 tickets be reserved before the November 29th deadline in order for the showing to happen. December 5 - The Dixfield Common Baptist Church will host a Down Home Country Christmas Concert on Saturday, December 5 at 6 PM featuring the talented and award-winning country music artist Travis Pinkham, the Gospel music group The Greatest Gift and the sensational young singer Sara Barker. December 7 Falmouth Congregational Church The St. Petersburg Men’s Ensemble has a mission to bring joy and through music – the language of the soul – unite all of us in harmony and love. The Ensemble offers a program that helps introduce audiences to Russian spiritual music, as well as to get acquainted with the unforgettable diversity of picturesque and expressive Russian folk songs. The St. Petersburg Men’s Ensemble formed as an independent group in 2003 in order to bring to its audiences compositions which, in normal circumstances, require a large number of performers. This talented quartet has developed an extensive repertoire encompassing a wide range of works from ancient Russian chants and chorales of Western Europe to modern music.  Come enjoy an evening of music by these off-the-chart talented vocalists. Join us for an evening of Christmas music and drama and take a personal journey with Mary and Joseph to the stable following angels through a candle-lit path. Watch the expressions on the children’s faces change as you walk through a real stable and see the baby in a manger surrounded by live animals.Over the past few years, hundreds of people, young and old alike, have celebrated this unique event and have come away with a new appreciation for the humble, yet marvelous birth of Christ. December 11 - Falmouth Congregational Church will host “Twisted Strings” at its Coffee House on Friday, December 11 at 6:30 PM. Twisted Strings is an acoustic duo with Michele Roy and Will West playing old and new tunes with Celtic roots. Michele has played the fiddle in several Contra Dance bands around Maine, while Will has been playing on the guitar and Irish bouzouki. December 18 - Grace Ministries International extends a warm welcome to all visitors for our upcoming LIVE nativity event. Dress for outdoors and join us by the bonfire for hot chocolate, homemade goodies and more. Take a ride on the horse drawn wagon or enjoy the carolers, before stopping at the Live Nativity. There is no admission fee for this wonderful event. All donations are greatly appreciated and 100% will be given to homeless charities throughout NH. Join us on from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.
