March 2015

March 28 - The North Pownal United Methodist Church, 851 Lawrence Rd, Pownal, Maine will be holding a public baked bean and spaghetti supper on March 28th from 4.30 to 6.30.  On the menu are three kinds of beans, spaghetti with mean sauce, potato salad, coleslaw, biscuits & brown bread, pickled beets and assorted homemade pies.  tickets are $8 for adults, $3 for kids 4-12 years old (Kids under 3 eat free).  Handicap assessable.  FMI-207-865-3517 

March 29 2015  Tedd Fish will present a concert at the Richmond Corner Baptist Church on Sunday morning March 29 at 10:45 am.  All are welcome. The concert is free with a free will offering for the support of Tedd Fish’s ministry. April 3,4,5 - “Lamb of God, King of Glory” is an Easter program consisting of colorful three-dimensional scenes, music, and Scriptures presenting the life, death, resurrection, ascension and second coming of Jesus Christ. Designed for the whole family, this unique presentation will be given by the New Hope Baptist Church, 268 Perham Street in Farmington on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 3, 4 & 5 at 7:00 PM. April 4 –  Come celebrate Easter at Deering Center Community Church in Portland. Bring the family to the great Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4 at 10 A.M. Children up to grade 5 are welcome to participate. Come back for the Easter Worship Service on Sunday, April 5 at 10:45 A.M. Easter Services

**All are welcome to attend an Easter Sunrise Service will be held on April 5th on the peak of Bradbury Mountain in Pownal at 6.00 am with Pastor Sandy Williams officiating.  There will also be a service under the shelter at the foot of the mountain with Rev. John Wentworth for those who are unable to climb (or in the First Parish congregational Church in Pownal in the event of inclement weather)  Coffee and donuts will be served at the Pownal Church following the service.  Sponsored by the First Parish Congregational Church of Pownal and the First Baptist Church of Freeport…FMI…865-4404 or 688-4846

April 11- MASONIC BEAN SUPPER April 11th from 4:30 – 6:00 PM. The Masonic Lodge is located on Route 136 across from the River Park,663 Royalsborough Road, Durham. The Prices are   $7.50 – Adults   $3.00 – Children (Ages 5-12) Free – Children under 5.  On the menu are Baked Beans, Chop Suey, Hot Dogs, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Bread, Pickles, and Homemade Pies. 

April 12 - St. Martin’s Church of Millinocket and St. Peter’s Church of East Millinocket, the two churches that make up Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, jointly will celebrate the parish’s feast day, Divine Mercy, on Sunday, April 12, at 3 p.m., at St. Peter’s Church, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket.

Activities will include: exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the first reading from St. Faustina’s Diary, blessing of the Divine Mercy image, the Divine Mercy Litany, singing of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, second reading from St. Faustina’s Diary, reading of St. Faustina’s prayer, benediction and veneration of St. Faustina’s relic. Area residents are invited to attend.

Following the celebration a meal of chicken stew will be served in St. Peter’s Parish Hall.
