The North Pownal United Methodist Church, 851 Lawrence Road, Pownal, Maine will be holding a public baked bean and spaghetti suppers the first Saturday of every month through November. FMI: Kim at 207-865-3517. Tickets are adults $7, children 4-12 yrs $3, and three yrs and under free. Handicap Assessable.



September 19th Reverend Steve Craft, Executive Director of Christian Citizenship Ministries, Inc., will be giving a presentation entitled ” Morality and Freedom”, America’s Dynamic Duo”, at 7:00 pm, at the Waldoboro American Legion, 181 Jefferson St.  Waldoboro.

September 20th 2014 FILL THEIR BELLY MOTORCYCLE BENEFIT RIDE.  rain date September 27th   (come in any vehicle even if you don’t have a motorcycle) This ride benefits the Chrysalis food bank of Gardiner Maine.  Ride leaves at 10 am leaving the Irving gas station at 284 Civic Center Drive in Augusta and will go to Smalls falls in Rangley. $10 donation. September 20th  On Saturday, September 20th the First Parish Congregational Church 422 Hallowell Road, Pownal, Maine will be hosting a Baked bean and spaghetti supper. There are settings at 5:00 p.m. and at 6:00 p.m.  To reserve your tickets please call Lois at 688-4433.

September 20th Holy Grounds Coffeehouse presents Chasing the Light and Andy Beaulieu, Saturday, September 20th. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.  Music begins at 6:30 p.m.  Dinner available. The Church of the Holy Spirit 1047 Congress Street Portland, ME

September 24 A benefit supper for Mike Wallace of Millinocket will be held Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 4-6 p.m. in the parish hall at St.Martin’s Church, 19 Colby St., Millinocket. The money raised will go toward purchasing back and hip braces for Wallace, who suffers from the painful, progressive and incurable disease of Ankylosing spondylitis. Turkey and all the fixing, plus a variety of tasty desserts, will be on the menu. Take outs and deliveries are available by calling 723-6395 the day of the event or 723-5902 prior to that.


September 25, 26 and 28  Jimmy DeYoung, the host of Prophecy Today, will be speaking at the Lisbon Falls Baptist Church, Rt. 196 in Lisbon Falls Thursday, September 25 & Friday September 26 at 7 PM.  He will then be at the First Baptist church of Portland, 360 Canco Rd. in Portland on Sunday, September 28 at 6 pm.  These events are free and open to the public.

September 26th  Moms, women, and teenage girls, please join us for a night of laughs at 7 pm at TnT Bible Ministries at 213 Foreside Road in Topsham, Maine!! Invite your girlfriends and join us for this wholesome and hilarious comedy that will encourage moms to remember the importance of their roles and God’s heart for families. This movie is rated PG and the cost of admission is the best part—IT’S FREE!!!!!!! Sorry guys, this event is for the ladies only and it will give us hubbies a chance to babysit the kids and spend time with them.

September 27th  The North Manchester Meeting House Church, 143 Scribner Hill Road in Manchester will host a Bean and Casserole Supper, Saturday, September 27th from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.  The supper is in conjunction with the Apple Festival and will feature assorted Apple Desserts.  The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for kids under 12. 

September 26th to 28th The Rumford Baptist Church is hosting a deeper life conference on the weekend of September 26th to 28th. Bible teacher, and evangelist Dr. Reg Dunlap from Eliot Maine will be speaking on “living the Christian way.” Dr. Dunlap has spoken all over the country and has written a number of books including “The Next Invasion from outer Space” and “Sound Doctrine Can be Harmful to your Religious Experience.” Christian gospel singers Reg and Gretchen Dunneman will be leading in worship and praise. You are invited to join us Friday night at 6; Saturday morning from 10 to 12, and Saturday and Sunday evenings at 6 pm. The Rumford Baptist Church is located at 112 Washington Street in Rumford. October 4th The North Pownal United Methodist Church, 851 Lawrence Rd, Pownal will be holding a public baked bean and spaghetti supper from 4:30 to 6:00.  The food pantry at the church will be accepting non-perishable foods or monetary donations…all donations will be greatly appreciated. One the menu will be three kinds of beans, spaghetti with meat sauce, potato salad, coleslaw, biscuits & brown bread, picked beets and assorted homemade pies.  $7 for adults, children 4-12 $3 and 3 and under are free.  Handicap assessable.  FMI: Kim at 865-3517

October 5th   The 21st annual Lewiston-Auburn Life-Chain will take place on Sunday October 5th from 2.30 to 3.30 across the Longley Bridge which connects the two cities.  This is a peaceful Pro-Life event where local pro-lifers will pray for an end to abortion and hold signs.  Please gather at the Great Falls Plaza (near the Auburn Post Office) at 2 pm to pick up your sign.  For more information, call Ron at 782-7721.

October 8th Parishioners at St. Martin's Church of Millinocket, 19 Colby St, will be carrying on a 53-year tradition as they host the Harvest Tea and Sale beginning at 10:30 a.m. The event will feature a molded turkey salad luncheon for $7, beginning at 11 a.m., as well as eight tables featuring goods ranging from food to plants and a host of other items that may be on peoples' pre-holiday shopping lists; plus the chance to win valuable prizes. FMI call 723-5902. October 11th The Masonic Lodge, 633 Royalsborough in Durham will host a bean supper from 4:30 to 6:00 PM. On the menu: Baked Beans, Chop Suey, Hot Dogs, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Bread, Pickles and Homemade pies. $7 Adults, $3 kids 5-12, children under 5 are free. Proceeds will benefit the Giving Tree (for children who may not have a Christmas). This is the final supper of the season. October 11th The North Pownal Methodist Church will hold a Harvest Supper, from 4:30 to 6:00. One the menu is ham, harvest vegetables, potatoes, roll, beverage and desert. $8 adults, $4 children 4-12, children three and under are free. FMI: Kim at 865-3517
