The North Pownal United Methodist Church, 851 Lawrence Road, Pownal, Maine will be holding a public baked bean and spaghetti suppers the first Saturday of every month through November. FMI: Kim at 207-865-3517. Tickets are adults $7, children 4-12 yrs $3, and three yrs and under free. Handicap Assessable.

October 25th -Farmington Baptist Church, 194 Whittier Rd in Farmington is holding a Harvest Festival, featuring games, food, a bounce house and more.  There will also be a best pumpkin decorating contest. Non-scary costumes are welcome. 5:30 to 7:30.  FMI-779-0731

October 26th – Come join us for the Sunday School hour (10:05-10:45 am) to hear about what God is doing through the Root Cellar from Director Clark Carter. Clark will also be sharing in both morning services (8:45 and 10:45 am). First Baptist Church Portland 360 Canco Road  

October 29th- An informational meeting for person interested in becoming volunteers with the Elder Buddies program, a program designed to offer friendship, companionship and support for the senior citizen of the Katahdin area communities, will be held on Oct. 29, @ 6 PM in the multi-purpose room at Millinocket Regional Hospital in Millinocket. Elder Buddies program is one of a series of programs offered through the Eastern Area Agency on Aging but is not operational in the Katahdin area due to a lack of volunteers. November 1– Join us for a potluck at First Baptist Church Portland 360 Canco Road  from 5-7 pm and hear about what God is doing through Way of Life Mission – an organization reaching out to Maine’s internationals – from Director Elizabeth Wilson.

November 1BAKED BEAN AND SPAGHETTI SUPPER North Pownal United Methodist Church    851 Lawrence Road, Pownal, Maine 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm The North Pownal United Methodist Church, 851 Lawrence Road, Pownal, Maine will be holding a public baked bean and spaghetti supper on Saturday, November1, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.   On the menu three kinds of beans, spaghetti with meat sauce, potato salad, coleslaw, biscuits & brown bread, pickled beets and assorted homemade pies. Tickets are adults $7, children 4-12 yrs $3, and three yrs and under free. Handicap Assessable. FMI: Kim at 207-865-3517.  This is the final supper of the season.

November 1 – The First Congregational Church of Durham will host a Chicken BBQ from 4:30 pm to 6 pm. On the menu BBQ Chicken, Salads, rolls, Pies and beverage. Adults 13 yrs and up are $9.00, CHildren 6-12 Yrs are $3.00 and under 5 yrs are free.  FMI:  207-837-3735

November 1 – President of New Brunswick Bible Institute Matthew Little will be special guest speaker at the First Baptist Church of West Gardiner. Conference starts at 1pm to 5pm with a meal after. Conference and meal is free to anyone wishing to attend.

November 2 - Pause for Pets  Craft and Vendor Fair to benefit the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society is being held at the Ramada Inn, 490 Pleasant Street, Lewiston, on Sunday, November 2 from 10am to 3pm. Admission is free and there will be plenty of door prizes.   Refreshments will be availabe to purchase.  There will also be a raffle of items donated by the vendors and local businesses, with proceeds going to help support the shelter and its programs.

November 6 – EAST MILLINOCKET – St. Peter’s Church of East Millinocket will  hold its annual Fall Tea & Sale, a 30 year-plus tradition, on Thursday, Nov. 6, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 58 Cedar St. The event will feature home made foods, candy, baked goods, fancy work and crafts for sale, plus a raffle that includes a 42″ LG television as top prize and the cash give-a-way drawing. A hot turkey pot pie will be served in the parish center as well. For more information call 746-3333.

November 8 - Hunter’s Breakfast North Pownal United Methodist Church 851 Lawrence Road, Pownal, Maine 04069 November 8th From 4am to 8am On November 8th the North Pownal United Methodist Church will host a Hunter’s Breakfast from 4 am to 8 am. On the Menu: Hash browns, Scrambled eggs, Sausage, Sliced ham, Baked beans, Pancakes and Syrup, Assorted pastries (muffins-donuts-cinnamon rolls), Milk/juice/coffee. Adults $8.00(12 yrs and up)-$5.00(Youth 11 yrs and younger).

November 12 – St. Martin’s of Millinocket will hold their monthly supper on November 12 from 4-6.  There will be two choices, either fish chowder or turkey Stew.  Take out and deliveries will be available.  FMI call 723-6395 the day of the supper or 723-5902 other times.
