April 28th - “Natural Law: Cloning, Chimeras, Animal-Human Hybrids, 3- Parent Embryos: What Everyone Should Know About The Brave New World” Come and join us to hear Bioethics Defense Fund’s Co-Founders, Attorneys Nikolas Nikas and Dorinda Bordlee, deliver an enlightening presentation on these life-threatening critical issues. April 28-30-A Rachel’s Vineyard interdenominational retreat will be held on April 28-30, 2017 at a quiet, comfortable location in southern New Hampshire. Rachel’s Vineyard is a safe place to renew, rebuild and redeem hearts wounded by abortion. April 29th -Soulsafe Basic: Psychological and Spiritual First Aid Training.  What happens physically, emotionally and spiritually in the aftermath of a traumatic event? Learn language, prayer and stress reducing techniques that will be encouraging and helpful to a victim. Helpers learn the danger of secondary stress and common signs and symptoms to watch for in themselves after listening and interceding for another. Participants are given a biblical foundation for responding to trauma.  Registration begins at 8:30am. May 13th-Renew opens  May 13 from 8-10:30 a.m. at Calvary Bible Church, 145 Hampstead Road, Derry. Arrive by 10 a.m. Derry residence not required. Renew offers free, gently-used apparel. Each household is limited to 20 of the newest items, plus a reasonable number of older items. Enter at the church marquee sign. Donations of good condition, modern clothing may be placed in the donations bin by the door at any time. No donations of money are asked or accepted. May 19th-Fellowship of Christian Athletes Fields of Faith: Fields of Faith is a student led event. Students invite, pray for, share with, and challenge their peers to read the Bible and follow Jesus Christ. An athletic field provides a neutral, rally point where a community can come together. June 16th-Faith Leaders Suicide Postvention Training being held at Vineyard Community Church, 13 East Broadway, Derry NH from 9am to 4pm. This is a free event with a nominal fee for lunch. Faith leaders are often ill prepared when asked to do a funeral or to care for the family and loved ones of someone who has taken their own life. This training will give faith leaders safe messaging skills to minimize suicide risk among the most vulnerable in their congregations and community and resources for effectively caring for those who are grieving this death like no other. Ann Duckless from NH National Alliance for Mental Illness and Bryan and Natalie Larson, Associate Pastors from Vineyard Community Church in Derry will be providing the training.
